EU Announces €10 Billion Investment for Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor

The European Union has announced a €10 billion investment to transform the trans-Caspian transport corridor into an efficient and cutting-edge route connecting Europe to Central Asia in just 15 days. This announcement came during the Global Gateway Investors Forum in Brussels, where representatives from the EU, Central Asian countries, Caucasus countries, Turkey, and the G7 convened to discuss necessary investments.

The trans-Caspian corridor is crucial as it provides a direct route between Western China and Europe, bypassing the Russian railway network and the subsequent sanctions imposed after the invasion of Ukraine.

These investments aim to develop sustainable transport connectivity and build new infrastructure, making Central Asia a key partner for the EU in terms of security, connectivity, and energy.
